The Truth
It is true that I paid Wickham the money to marry Lydia. Without this, the Bennet family reputation would be ruined, and I would not be able to marry Elizabeth. Hopefully, She will realize what I have done for her and accept my proposal, if I try it again. I hope now that Wickham is engaged, he will not be going after any more young women set to inherit large amounts of money. I have a feeling that he has tried it with more than just Lydia and Georgiana.

Oh Darcy, you should not have done this! Just think about what people will say! More importantly, how do you think Lady Catherine feels right now, watching her favorite nephew associate with such a woman. Shes getting up there in age, you know, the pain you will cause her might just kill her off!
